Is BUFFED Vegan and Gluten-Free?
Last updated July 29, 2026
Short answers: yes and yes—with the precise framing that actually matters. BUFFED sticks (Venom Berry and Pineapple Thrash) are formulated with no animal-derived ingredients and no gluten-containing ingredients. Neither holds a third-party certification. The formulation is clean; the certification paperwork is not something BUFFED has pursued. (Difference between a fact and a badge. Both matter, depending on why you're asking.)
Is BUFFED vegan?
The formulation is vegan: no animal-derived ingredients and no animal testing in product development or research. That's the formulation on file. The correct phrasing is "vegan formulation" or "vegan-friendly"—BUFFED does not hold a Vegan Society certification or any other third-party vegan mark, so "Certified Vegan" would be inaccurate. If your concern is the ingredient list, you're clear. If your concern requires a certification stamp, BUFFED doesn't carry one.
Is BUFFED gluten-free?
Formulated without gluten-containing ingredients. That's the accurate receipt. BUFFED is not GFCO-certified, NSF-certified, or otherwise third-party tested and certified gluten-free. If you have celiac disease and require a certified gluten-free product with formal cross-contamination testing, BUFFED cannot make that claim. If you follow a gluten-free diet by choice or non-celiac preference, the formula contains no gluten ingredients. When in doubt, consult a licensed medical provider.
What are the actual ingredients?
BUFFED's formula covers five ingredient buckets—all clean, all labeled with real doses:
- Organic mushrooms—50mg 'Shroom Power blend: Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Maitake
- Nootropics—1,150mg total per Venom Berry stick (800mg in Pineapple Thrash): L-Tyrosine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, L-Theanine, Bacopa Monnieri. No Alpha-GPC.
- Caffeine—150mg per stick
- Electrolytes—Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium
- B-vitamins—including B12 as Methylcobalamin, the active methylated form
0g added sugar. 10 calories per stick. (That's not a health claim—that's a nutrition label.)
What about MEGA-BUFFED?
MEGA-BUFFED is gluten-free formulated but we do NOT claim vegan on it. MEGA-BUFFED contains evaporated cane juice, and cane sugar is sometimes processed with bone char. Without a supplier confirmation on file, we won’t make a vegan claim we can’t back. Sticks (Venom Berry, Pineapple Thrash) remain vegan formulation. Everything else about MEGA-BUFFED holds: 500mg of mushrooms, 688mg of electrolytes (Sodium 365mg, Potassium 233mg, Magnesium 90mg), zero caffeine, Lemon Rip.MEGA-BUFFED is the caffeine-free sibling: 500mg of mushrooms, 688mg of electrolytes (Sodium 365mg, Potassium 233mg, Magnesium 90mg), zero caffeine—and the same clean-label philosophy. Flavor: Lemon Rip.
Does "no animal testing" mean anything for a drink?
It means BUFFED did not conduct animal testing in product development or research. This is confirmed in our formulation records. It's a formulation and research decision, not a regulatory requirement for beverages—but it's a real fact worth knowing if it matters to you.
Is there anything in BUFFED that concerns vegans?
Not in the ingredient list. The functional mushrooms are fungi, not animal products. The nootropic compounds—L-Tyrosine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, L-Theanine, Bacopa—are synthetic or plant-derived. Methylcobalamin (B12) is synthesized, not extracted from animal sources. (Lion's Mane is not a lion. Cordyceps is a fungus.) See the full ingredient breakdown here.

No. It's a vegan formulation—no animal-derived ingredients—but BUFFED does not hold a Vegan Society or equivalent third-party certification.
Is BUFFED certified gluten-free?
No. Formulated without gluten-containing ingredients, but not GFCO- or NSF-certified. If celiac disease requires a certified product, this isn't it.
Does BUFFED contain dairy, eggs, or soy?
The formulation contains no animal-derived ingredients. Review the full label for complete allergen information before purchase.
Are the mushrooms in BUFFED vegan?
Yes. Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, and Maitake are fungi—not animal products.
Is MEGA-BUFFED vegan?
MEGA-BUFFED is gluten-free formulated but we do NOT claim vegan. It contains evaporated cane juice; some cane sugar is filtered with bone char and we don’t have a supplier confirmation on file, so we won’t make a claim we can’t back. If vegan is a hard requirement, BUFFED sticks are the ones formulated to that standard.
